Night Shift Marination Supervisor
The purpose of a Team Lead (Supervisor) is to facilitate coordination within the assigned department. The Team Leader will insure activities necessary to accomplishing the team’s workload to flow smoothly. This position is to resolve issues interfering with the team(s) such as quality, equipment or material issues and will coach/mentor peers who conflict interpersonally or exhibit behaviors contrary to the stated goals and accountabilities. Duties include, but are not limited to, training fellow team members to insure proper work process and safety requirements are learned.
Successfully insures the assigned dept performs its goals and accountabilities by acting as a facilitator to team members. This includes insuring the team is adequately staffed as directed by the area Supervisor, potential team members are recruited, screened and interviewed by the team for the supervisor’s selection, performs initial coaching/counseling when team member’s attendance, work performance, or work habits become unsatisfactory thus interfering with the team's performance, initially documents the teams attempts to address these issue, then directs subject conflicts which could not be resolved along with the documentation to the area Supervisor who will determine and carry out disciplinary actions on behalf of the team.
Make analytical quality, safety and mechanical evaluations on the team’s equipment, raw material, work surroundings and finish product, recording data collected and reporting results to fellow team members for action when necessary. When equipment, product or supply issues occur that affect the team’s performance, the Team Leader with work with those departments having responsibility for those resources (on behalf of the team) to insure whatever problem has occurred is resolved. Some of these functions include: Quality Control, Maintenance, and other teams with the department, Supply, Safety or Human Resources.
Ensures the development and training of fellow team members and trainees occurs. Coordinates cross-training within the dept to insure that team members understand all job functions, can rotate as needed and safety risks are minimized through ergonomic.
Attends and facilitates the team meeting process communicating key measurements, results/goals achieved, general business information pertinent to each team member from various sources within the company, then informs the area Supervisor of the team’s progress, action plans and meeting results.
Ensures that the team’s daily production is set-up prior to the beginning of each shift and that the team’s daily production and processing goals are met by the end of shift in accordance with the USDA, QA, and company standards.
Performs the various productions job duties within the department as needed during the day to insure production goals are achieved.
3-5 years poultry operations experience or
possess an equivalent amount of leadership experience supervising/facilitating work units involved in cohesive work tasks
