Junior Agricultural ManagerCirca £27,000 p/a amazing benefits including a car Manchester city centre with regular UK travelWe're looking for a junior agricultural manager to join our team and help make sure we deliver on our commitments to British agriculture. As a junior agricultural manager at the Co-op, we'll look to you to build amazing relationships with our suppliers and partners to develop our agricultural plans. You'll be a champion for the Co-op's ethical, health, welfare and environmental standards. And it'll be down to you make sure we live up to those standards by putting the necessary due diligence in place for our food categories.What you'll do:•build and manage relationships with farmers and communities throughout our supply chain, making sure that working environments are looked after and animals are treated fairly•manage our farms across the UK from Edinburgh to Devon; supporting deliveries, invoicing, and looking after the supply chain•make sure our commitments are being adhered to across all our farms and supply chains•manage, document and report any issues or incidents, raising where necessary•work with external bodies such as Red Tractor, the NFU and other non-government organisations to make sure Co-op produce adheres to legislation•link in with social media, marketing and PR teams to manage any stories in the press and safeguard our brand and reputationThis role would suit people who have:•some form of agriculture experience or background•a full UK driver's licence and the flexibility to travel regularly across the UK for work•great organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities at any one time•excellent relationship management skills•what it takes to influence and challenge people in the right way•a relevant qualification or degree – this would be an advantage but not crucial•commercial or office based experience, this'd be great•worked with customers and are familiar with customer service•worked with supply chain before, this'd be good tooWhy Co-op?As a Co-op colleague you'll do work that matters in an organisation where principles are just as important as profits.
