We are seeking a Senior Utility Forester to work at our federal customer site in Phoenix, AZ and to join our collaborative, innovative, customer-centric culture. Key Responsibilities: Coordinates, inspects, plans, directs, audits, inventories, schedules, evaluates, and coordinates the activities of the IVM program with Transmission-Line Personnel and crews. Performs identification, inspection and evaluation of trees and brush along the transmission lines and performs quality control inspections. Schedules and performs field meetings. Coordinates, in conjunction with Lands Department, IVM and Access Road Program Transmission Line personnel activities with contractors, land owners along the transmission line Right-of-Way ROW, and external agencies. Flag ROW boundaries and/or special features (e.g. biological, cultural, water resources, sediment sources along access roads, endangered plants and animals, etc.) within the project area for avoidance and/or visual reference. Assists with the preparation of the IVM and Access Road Program and administration of contracts. Inspects timber stands and/or ROW(s) to estimate the volume, quality and value of the trees to provide a detailed sample of plots or strips, representative of the entire stand. Assists with the implementation of an on/off Danger Tree assessment and mitigation program. Prepares weekly and monthly reports, assists with reporting progress and other quality assurance aspects. Coordinates environmental issues with Environmental Department. Tracks progress of scheduled work and document timely completion. Documents and submits to the Transmission Line personnel, WAPA's Vegetation Management Contractor's work summary for compliance with the task specifications. Overnight travel is required up to 99% of time, and overtime will in some cases be mandatory based on the required support needed at job sites. Your Knowledge Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Vegetation Management right of way utility line clearance. Associates degree required, Bacheloru2019s degree preferred (BA/BS) in Forestry, Natural Resources Management, or related fields. Certification as a Certified Arborist Utility Specialist issued from the International Society of Arborist (ISA) is mandatory. A Qualified Applicator License issued by the Arizona Department of Pesticide Regulation is recommended.
