Position Summary:

This position will oversee the Expense Management functions within accounts payable and will be responsible for all activities across Grain, OVC, and Milling related to commodity related expenses (truck freight, rail freight, brokerage, vessel expenses, barge freight, demurrage, etc). This includes monitoring and amending standard operating procedures for capturing expense information from the commercial organization, establishing accruals, issuing payments and reconciling open payables and activities. This position will utilize the GTM system as well as BPOpen to establish best practices and to develop, train and lead a team to execute the activities while continuing to evaluate and implement continuous process improvements. Will work in close coordination with Commercial/ Sales support, Supply Chain Management and the PtP (procure to pay) organization; providing support for all payables related functions across North America.

Core Functions:

Lead the professional development of the Expense Management team and manage individual workloads; work in close coordination with Accounts Payable (non commodity) to ensure collaboration across the entire payables function

Oversee daily transactions to establish accruals and pay invoices related to commodity related expenses including freight, brokerage, vessel expenses, demurrage, etc

Identify opportunities for further standardization of expense processing, create standard operating procedures and transition commodity related expenses to a centralized team; develop a team to efficiently process and manage transactions

Ensure that internal controls related to commodity related expenses are executed/ improved upon to support company SOX requirements and sound internal control practices

Ensure consistent account utilization across the organization for commodity related expenses

Present KPI/ reports to management summarizing freight spend and other supply chain expense categories, while also utilizing findings to identify process improvements

Work with vendors, commercial management and accounting to establish and achieve goals and metrics to maximize cash flow for the company and make payments in the most efficient manner

Manage general accounting record-to-report processes for commodity related expense activities facilitating a timely and accurate month-end closing process

Perform weekly and monthly reconciliations of expense activity including coordinating with FP & A and commercial for amounts to include in estimates

Responsible for review of GR/IR balance sheet reconciliations including adequate procedures and processes to ensure reporting of expenses in the appropriate accounting period

Manage accounting personnel and participate in training, development, and performance management activities to maximize performance of the expense management team

Skill/Experience Requirements:

Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or comparable field

5 years experience in agribusiness industry with and solid understanding of commodity accounting, contract/ invoice creation and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) related to the commodity business

SAP FICO core competency and/or GTM preferred

Demonstrated Continuous Improvement mentality, ability to understand interdependencies within a full end to end process, ability to influence stakeholders and upstream process owners

Excellent communication skills verbal and written

Self starter with strong commitment to continuous learning

Strong leadership competencies and commitment to Bunges core values

Strong problem solving, analytical and organization skills

Ability to prioritize multiple projects and initiatives

Able to work in collaborative team environment

Full-time position, typically 40 hours a week, with overtime hours as needed and during month-end closes

Limited travel
