PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT
Under the direction of Plant Manager/Crops Specialist, loads and custom applies crop protection products, fertilizers, and ag-lime as directed. Maintains and repairs all facility buildings, equipment, and property. Completes required paper work, such as application logs, inspection forms, and maintenance records as required. Loads trucks, tanks, and equipment with products as needed. Operates plant equipment, such as forklift, loaders, and other items. Helps maintain inventory of all products at facility.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Loads and applies crop protection inputs to customers fields and growing crops according to recommended rates, procedures, and following all pesticide labels to maximize product performance and customer satisfaction.
Completes spray/application logs as fields are completed, noting any problems or concerns when they happened.
Performs routine maintenance on all facility equipment, including, oil changes, lubrication, and cleaning of application equipment as recommended in operators manual to maximize equipment reliability and service life.
Works with other location employees to maintain location, buildings, equipment, and property to enhance company image.
Deliver products to customers as required including assisting walk-in customers.
OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Adheres toGRAINCOFS, INC. environmental, health, training, and safety policies to prevent accidents or injuries.
Adheres to GRAINCOFS, INC. Uniform policy, and maintains the appropriate professional image.
Assist with crop scouting as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Normally requires previous applicator or related experience and/or training to demonstrate the ability to custom apply fertilizers, crop protection products, and ag-lime.
Proven professional communication and customer service skills and the ability to comprehend simple instructions, communicate one-on-one and in small groups with customers and other employees.
Ability to keep sensitive customer, business, and employee information confidential.
Demonstrated time management and basic math skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals along with the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Proven ability to work independently and in a team oriented environment.
Understanding of basic computer skills as they relate to custom application business.
Demonstrated core competencies including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making, and skill development.
Must have or the ability to obtain a CDL with proper endorsements and commercial operators license from the Department of Agriculture. Must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug test as per F.M.C.S. regulations.
Must be willing to work beyond those hours considered normal.
Have the ability to lift and carry 70 lbs.
Able to do work overhead or while lying under machinery.
Be able to perform minor equipment maintenance and repair.
Willing to work outdoors, in weather extremes when necessary.
