Full Time - Assistantship
Virginia Tech's School of Plant and Environmental Sciences and the Department of Animal and Poultry Sciences seek a qualified candidate to conduct research with industrial hemp as it relates to production, quality, and crop nutritional value for livestock. The position will begin by or before January 2019 and is funded through Virginia Tech's John Lee Pratt Animal Nutrition Scholarship. The suitable candidate will work with faculty advisors both in crop and in animal sciences. Students will have room to explore industrial hemp production and use across the spectrum from crop production to utilization as a feedstuff for beef cattle and physiological responses to hemp intake.
Student applicants s should have a 3.4 GPA if entering with BS or 3.5 GPA if entering with MS. Quantitative and verbal scores on the GRE should be at the 70th percentile.
