Description\/Job Summary POSITION DESCRIPTION BACKGROUND POSITION INFORMATION Position Title: Front End Team Leader (1st Shift) Job Code: Location: Perdue Perry-Cook Facility Department: Front End Line 3 Supervisor\u2019s Title: Unit Manager Supervisor's Name: Tracy Osborne Normal Work Schedule Note: The hours and days of work are established as needed by operations and at the discretion of management, while generally as shown below, may be changed (increased or decreased ) by management as needed. Hours of Work: Dependent on shift schedule at the facility. Normally 1 hour before shift start-up and 1 hour after production ends. Days of Work: Normally Monday through Saturday as scheduled by management and Sundays, and \/ or Holidays if needed by operations and approved by management. Assignment to alternate shifts on an as needed basis as determined by management. The minimum Formal Education preferred to be considered for this position is (indicated level and years of education and, if a degree is\u00a0required, the major):\u00a0 4-year college degree in Business Administration, Agriculture, Poultry Science, Animal Science, or related field or equivalent experience. Computer literate with skills in Microsoft Office. Specialized or technical knowledge, credentials or licensing required for the position include:\u00a0 Leadership \u2013 a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results. Planning \u2013 an ability to think ahead and plan over a 1 to 3 year time span. Management \u2013 the ability to organize multiple protocols \/ projects and complete on schedule. Train, direct, and develop subordinates to meet operating, safety, and quality requirements within the department \/ area. 2. Supervises production staff to ensure product quality and integrity, and ensures all finished product meets or exceeds customer requirements 3. Creates and maintains an environment that is conducive to retaining associates. Consistently administers company policies and procedures. 4. Support and promote the company\u2019s annual People, Products, and Profitability goals through effective and efficient planning, communication, coaching, training, and overall direction of the workforce.\u00a0 5. Creates and implements with management approval, new ideas and methods to improve production efficiencies, CSI, QI, Safety Scorecard. 6. Support the 3 P\u2019s. People \u2013 Turnover, Safety, Associate Engagement; Products \u2013 Quality and consistency of products; Profitability \u2013 Contribute to achievement of Key Initiatives. DECISION-MAKING RESPONSIBILITIES Describe the decision-making authority of this position, the nature and extent of supervision available and the point at which higher approval is required. This position has the authority to make day-to-day decisions within their work team, upon established policies and procedures. OTHER POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES This position spends 60 % of a normal workweek supervising other Associates. This position spends 30 % of a normal workweek training and developing other Associates. This position spends 5 % of a normal workweek performing technical analyses and writing reports. This position spends 5 % of a normal workweek in production or maintenance-related activities. ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The environmental factors and \/ or physical requirements of this position include the following: Ability to work for 8 hours or more in a stationary position or travel on a wet, moist, dry, greasy, floors which may include medal or plastic grating surfaces with up to 4 hours in a single interval. Ability to work from various types of ladders and\/or stairs. Exposure to and work in temperatures of less than -40 degrees and 75 degrees with ambient humidity. Noise exposure of 110 db, and light intensity range of 50 to 100 foot candles. Bending, twisting, lifting up to 50 lbs, reaching, sitting, and grasping varies in repetitions, distance, degrees, angle, weight, heights, longest interval of time, objects grasped, and body positions depending upon the maintenance task required. Exposure to chlorinated water ( 50 ppm, Ammonia vapors ) 5 ppm, dry ice, caustic detergents, lubricating oils, hydraulic oils, and other chemicals found in a poultry processing plant. Must use and \/ or wear protective and safety equipment required for the job. \u00a0Required to travel to other facilities and plants for meetings and\/or business.
