Servi-Tech is currently seeking Crop Specialists
across our crop consulting service area. The area crop specialist works in a consulting role to provide crop production advice to agricultural producers and production managers.
Detailed Duties and Responsibilities Provide technical crop production advice and assistance to your customers.
Help the customer with crop and variety selections.
Assist the customer with equipment calibrations.
During the growing season visit contracted fields periodically (usually weekly) to assess the crop’s progress and to make verbal and written suggestions.
Maintain records on each field under contract.
Attend company and other professional training meetings on weed control, disease management, and crop order to keep updated on new technology.
Collect soil samples with or without GPS and make fertility recommendations.
Perform other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Help farmers with their cropping programs by providing preliminary crop recommendations.
Be knowledgeable and adaptable to various precision ag applications such as remote soil moisture sensing, aerial imagery, and various aspects of data management as it relates to agronomy.
Have the ability and desire to call on current and potential customers to promote Servi-Tech and our service products.
Servi-Tech is located in Iowa, Nebraska, western Kansas, and northeastern Colorado. We are looking for crop specialists to work in these areas. We provide on-the-job training with experienced people, transportation, and excellent benefits.
Minimum Qualifications Agronomy and sales experience is necessary.
Must be willing to relocate to western Nebraska.
Bachelor's degree in agriculture. Agronomy, crop science, entomology, agribusiness, ag studies, or soil science majors are desired, but not necessary.
A considerable amount of crop and soil science related course work in another degree or related experience is acceptable.
Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
