Job Summary
Location: Carlisle, KY.
Nicholas County is located in Central Kentucky. The Extension Agent for Agriculture and Natural Resources / 4-H Youth Development Education will provide leadership and management to the overall ANR and 4-H Youth Development program for Nicholas County. The agent will develop and implement a plan of work based on locally identified needs which will lead to improved quality of living for families, youth, & individuals including: (1) develop agricultural & horticultural proficiency of local citizens through educational programs; (2) provide agricultural expertise to answer questions and solve problems related to agriculture, horticulture, and natural resources; (3) develop field trials, test demonstrations, and result demonstrations in related areas; (4) utilize and/or develop councils, advisory groups, and committees to facilitate community involvement in programming; (5) jointly share responsibility in community programming around issues involving leadership development, community involvement, local government, community services and other forms of community economic development. This position will work jointly with one other agent to implement a well-rounded 4-H program that develops youth through school and community-based programs; utilize and/or develop councils, advisory groups, and committees in programming; and facilitate community programming around issues involving leadership development, community involvement, local government, community services and other forms of community economic development. This position will serve all clientele, ensuring that all youth and adults have an equal opportunity to participate in extension programs regardless of race, gender, age, color, sex, religion, disability, or national origin.
All agents in a county will support the dissemination of useful and practical information on subjects relating to Agriculture, Family Consumer Sciences, 4-H and Community and Rural Development as outlined in the KRS statues 164.605 to 164.675
