POSITION TITLE:  Parts Business Specialist

POSITION PURPOSE:

Coordinate engineering changes across all Parts Division departments and manage changeover process (e.g., timing, inventory implications)

Facilitate ECNs through Parts Change Management (PCM)

Define Parts strategy and service BOM definition, including remanufacturing products as well as supplier components

Be Parts voice on engineering releases, proper service level definition, super session information, engineering disposition, and cut out dates are made available and info is provided to MDM

Determine the Recommended Initial Stocking Quantities

Define dealer stocking lists (RDSL) for New Product Introductions

Ensure Parts sourcing and purchase pricing coincides w/ Production supplier and pricing

Oversee and lead the new product introductions from the time it becomes an approved project through full production.

Work with the site manufacturing Product Managers to stay current on all project timelines and milestones

Responsible for the coordination of the activities of all Parts Division disciplines (Materials, Parts Data, Purchasing, Marketing, Pricing, and Quality Assurance) in support of bringing new products to the field to ensure exceptional level of dealer support.

Ensure all Parts Division key milestones in the new product development process are achieved and documented in the AMPIP process tool.     Provide an independent assessment of Parts Division readiness of a project at each step in the process.

Work to mitigate project risks with the help of the multi-disciplinary team throughout the development process.

Develop and distribute reports to track progress of readiness for launch.

Schedule and facilitate cross functional meetings necessary to support the launch of a product.

Attend Site project update meetings at the plants and 3rd Party suppliers as needed.

Work with all functional groups to identify needs and possible process improvements. Manage and facilitate teams in implementing other cost reduction and service improvement projects across the Parts division

Coordinate all requirements for field resolution issues

Communicate service agenda requirements to the respective areas within the Parts Division

Facilitate field fix to dealers through coordination with TSS, purchasing, procurement, F&P, etc

Adhere to time to fix objectives within the service agenda teams

·         Campaign/Service Agenda  Inventory

            Current model parts spend variance vs. production

·          Campaign part availability – Time to Fix

           Campaign fill % - Avg days to closure

·          NPI inventory management

            $ of Scrap & Obs tied to Engineering Changes

II.

                  FUNCTIONAL KNOWLEDGE:

The incumbent must be able to:

Understand basic manufacturing processes and timelines

Apply knowledge of project management to the product launch process

Understand and incorporate dealer requirements and voice of the customer into the product introduction process

Understand the basic principles of service level definition, engineering design and validation cycles, materials planning, marketing, customer service and the other Parts division functions so they are able to form effective and complete multi-disciplinary teams to address product introduction imperatives

Define service level BOMs, manage engineering changes, and coordinate with product engineering and technical service organizations

Understand and manage impacts of disposition on materials

                BUSINESS EXPERTISE:

The incumbent must understand the product launch cycle from conception and approval to delivery at the dealer, key purchasing processes (e.g., sourcing, contracting, and negotiations), industrial machinery and applications (experience in agriculture machinery preferred), and inventory management.

IV.

                LEADERSHIP/PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:

This position will not have direct reports; however this position will need to incorporate utilizing other people and functions to accomplish required tasks so the Parts division can attain its goals.  There will need to be an ability to coordinate activities and actions to ensure the Parts division success; escalating and ensuring project timelines are met is a requirement (conflict management).

V.

                  PROBLEM SOLVING:

·          Often deals with problems where the collection and analysis of data from multiple sources is required. Project management will require the use of statistical and other high level analysis.

o         In many cases resources are not readily available to support actions required.  Must be able to solicit information and be able to make decisions or be able to deliver supporting data to internal customers w/in the Part’s Division; or, reject ongoing work at the engineering sites to obtain required information for the Part’s division.

·          In many cases there conflicts w/in the internal needs and customers of the Parts division and Production sites; must be able to elevate and escalate underlying issues to reach consensus to move forward, including elevating to decision and policy makers when appropriate.

VI.

                NATURE OF IMPACT

Performance of this individual will affect the brand image of AGCO Corporation as it relates to our ability to adequately support dealers in new product introductions.  Responsible for aligning Parts direct material costs with Production purchasing at time of part introduction, and ensuring adequate contracts / supply agreements are in place.  Responsible for coordinating with product engineering to manage timing of engineering changes and inventory impacts associated with these changes.

VII.

              AREA OF IMPACT:

Parts Specialists will have responsibility to all NA Parts aspects of their respective products which include, but not limited to, AED, Track Tractors, Wheeled Tractors, Seeding and Tillage, Hay and Harvesting.  These products may be produced at a local site, a 3rd party purchased product, or imported from another AGCO global site

VIII.

            INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

Incumbent must be able to communicate with everyone from frontline employees, to corporate personnel in various functions. Position will require the communication of complex and detailed information. Excellent influencing skills required.

IX.

                QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, agribusiness, or supply chain with a minimum of 3 years experience in project management, product development, purchasing or industrial operations.  Certification in project management, lean principles or 6 sigma recommended.
