Mason Pecans, Kathleen, GA now hiring 18 temporary Orchard Workers to work in Peach, Macon, Houston, and Taylor Counties, GA from 4/1/2018 to 2/1/2019. Hourly wage of $10.95. Perform manual labor to plant pecan trees, cultivate and harvest pecans by hand and machine. Clean, pack and load harvested products. Operate farm vehicles, tractors, machinery, and equipment. Ongoing orchard maintenance including pruning and thinning on ladders and lifts. Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Climb 6 ft. ladders and use 25 ft. lifts. Work outside in extremely hot, cold, and/or wet weather. Perform prolonged walking, bending, lifting and reaching over head for extended periods of time. Hazardous occupation. Two months of verifiable pecan pruning experience is required. Three quarters of an average of 53 hrs./wk guaranteed. Employer may pay an end of season bonus to all workers who complete the contract. Tools, supplies and equipment provided at no cost. Housing provided at no cost if outside commuting area. If applicable, transportation and subsistence expense to the job will be paid upon completion of 50% of the employment period, or earlier.
