Through its people and brands, CNH Industrial delivers power, technology and innovation to farmers, builders and drivers all around the world. Each of its brands, including Case IH, New Holland Agriculture, Case and New Holland Construction, FPT Industrial, Capital, and Parts & Service, is a major international force in its specific sector.
Your primary area of operation is both steeped in agricultural history and on the forefront of innovation. Our first presence in Burr Ridge traces back to 1917 where International Harvester, our name at the time and one of our current brands, operated a dairy test farm. The main building was first occupied in 1959 as a farm equipment research and engineering center. Today Burr Ridge is the NAFTA headquarters as well as being one of the premier R&D facilities worldwide. The only limit to test capabilities here is our imagination. In addition to the Burr Ridge home base, you'll be expected to travel in some capacity to 1) customer farms, 2) component suppliers and third-party testing vendors, and 3) any number of our 49 global R&D facilities. This includes all agricultural regions of North America, as well as overseas.
The Product Validation group is responsible for developing, testing and validating new products and/or revisions to current products. Ultimately we represent the voice of the customer for the full lineup of compact size tractors and large cash crop high tractors, Case IH Magnum and New Holland T8 series - arguably the most versatile tractor types in the marketplace. We are the last line of defense before our products are introduced to the global public markets. Collaborate with cross-functional group of project stakeholders to define project scopes, required testing and areas of interest. Answer the unknowns, assess risk, and estimate timing. Select, calibrate, and install the correct instrumentation for the task at hand while ensuring all information required will be covered and there is integrity in the data. Retrofit prototype parts. Prepare the data acquisition equipment, write drive scripts to automate sequences/cycles when needed. Operate the vehicles or test skids. Whether you are performing a stationary assessment of hydraulic sub-system fluid power, maximum drawbar pulls and the effect on fueling and after-treatment injection, or high-speed brake decelerations -- this is a hands-on position! Collect and analyze data. Utilize our bevy of software processing tools to identify trends or issues and gauge performance. Confirm whether the systems under test meet internal specifications, external legal/safety requirements, and meet or exceed our customers' levels of expectation. Craft effective and formal technical reports on your testing. Present your findings back to the project stakeholders. Drive discussion, lobby for changes if needed, and coordinate next steps. Document non-conformance and follow-up on the status of changes. Confirm issues are resolved through proposed design/process changes or supplier quality corrective action. Benchmark competitive equipment, confirming our product lines place us in a best in class position. Identify areas of improvement and quantify the gaps. The capabilities in Burr Ridge also invite testing of other CNH Industrial product lines. Steiger/T9 tractors, sprayers, combines, mid-sized tractors, and various construction equipment are just some of the different product lines you will be exposed to. Track down and troubleshoot problems. Enlist subject matter experts to aid in identifying root-cause and corrective action. Support field testing and reliability growth. Travel throughout the different agricultural regions, following our tractors as they gain valuable real-life experience in the many different applications of usage. Train customers on features and controls, solicit feedback, and monitor the durability of new parts. We also continually strive for enhancement of previously sold products out in the marketplace -- focusing on customer feedback and improved reliability. Curate our current library of test procedures and protocols. Collaborate with teams to define new procedures as innovation drives new areas of testing. Ensure we have well-defined instructions and comparable historical results for the future. Be a technical resource on testing and our product. Train new hires on data acquisition. Identify needed tools and create capital request proposals with proper justification/payback. Participate in design reviews, DFMEA's, and other project definition activities based on your technical understanding of our product and how it should function for the end customer.
