If so, Wood is looking for someone like you to join our operation in Phoenix, Arizona.  As an experienced Water Quality Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the local Surface Water Practice. The Water Quality Specialist will be a key technical resource, supporting unique and varied project assignments.
 
Key Responsibilities:

Primary project work related to the position includes: stormwater management and permitting (construction sites, industrial facilities, mine sites, and municipalities), TMDL program implementation, Aquifer Protection Permit permitting, and Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Rule compliance
Must have the ability to work safely and intelligently in the field year-round, in a variety of climates, terrain, and weather conditions
The preferred candidate will have a detailed understanding of the Clean Water Act and its regulatory programs at the federal and state levels, primarily including: Section 402 (the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Program), Section 311 (Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Program, Section 303 (Water Quality Standards and Implementation Program), Section 404 (Wetland Protection Regulations), and Section 401 (Water Quality Certification)
The candidate should understand stormwater Best Management Practices (BMP) / Control Measure (CM) design, selection, and maintenance requirements
Experience in the design and management of stormwater utilizing green infrastructure (GI), low impact development (LID).
Strong team collaboration, clear communication, client coordination, and business development skills are highly desirable

Skills / Qualifications

Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Environmental Science; Geochemistry; Geology; Hydrology; Civil, Agricultural or Environmental Engineering; or other applicably relevant degreed background
Self-motivated professional with three to five (3-5) years of experience in the environmental regulatory and consulting industries
Have experience working with both state (Arizona) and federal regulatory agencies dealing with water (ADEQ, ADWR, EPA, etc.)
Be able to understand and apply environmental rules and statues
Have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
Be able to manage multiple projects/assignments simultaneously and under tight deadlines
Be flexible and adaptive to changing priorities and client/project needs
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Experience using AutoCAD, Civil3D, and GIS a plus
Must pass drug test, fit for duty physical, background check, and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
